**SOUTH SHORE ADVENTURE TOUR by Reykjavik Excursion**

07:45 Pick-up by a shuttle from Reykjavik Excursions. Please be ready on time

09:00 At BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik, you will change to the tour bus for your full day excursion visiting the waterfalls in the south and the black sand beach near Vik.

This tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. We take you along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country’s most scenic regions, as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs. South Iceland is special for that it is one of the flattest regions on the island. Because of that, most of all grain farming in Iceland is done there. The high mountains to the north, shield the area from the harshest winds from the north. Among the stops on this tour are at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to walk behind it. Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. The waterfall was also used in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

We will also stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be dangerous, and we kindly ask our guests not to go too close to the ocean and go by guidelines. Additionally, we will stop by Sólheimajökull and walk up to a small lake which has formed in front of the retreating glacier.

Tour duration: 07:45 – 20:45

The tour is ISK 12900 per person including pick up and drop off from our guesthouse.

On this tour you will see:
• Sólheimajökull
• Vík
• Reynisfjara
• Reynisdrangar
• Skógafoss
• Seljalandsfoss

PUBLIC BUS
The cheapest and easiest way to get to/from Reykjavik from/to our guesthouse by local bus is to take stræto bus line no. 55 (www.straeto.is) from Reykjavik which runs to Keflavik town. The closest bus stop is called HRINGBRAUT/MELTEIGUR, which is a 5 minutes walk from our guesthouse. Please check the schedule ahead on the website as the busses are not very frequent! Once you get off at the bus stop, walk down Vesturgata towards the sea, at the roundabout you can see our guesthouse. Please note that the straeto bus is a lot cheaper than the Flybusses to the airport. Also, we don’t offer pick up service from the Flybus and a taxi from the airport to our guesthouse is around ISK 2500.
